    Exceptional

We always stay at the Super 8 when we come to Canada for visits with family on the eve of our going back to the States.. We cross over into the States at the Bluewater Bridge because of the traffic in Detroit. My parents were born in Sarnia, we visit areas of the town we know and always stop at Lakeview Cemetary to visit my grandparents grave. The Super 8 is just to convient to all we do in Sarnia. We have stayed there several times and will continue to do so in the future.

    Very good

    Location was good

Rooms could use an update, ac units and windows for starters, windows do not keep out air and rooms are drafty as a result, they cannot be energy efficient either in summer or winter, energy saving is the hot button issue these days, Super 8 needs to get on board with the eco friendly train.

    Good

It was there. Nothing to recomend, nothing to rave about. Served a purpose.

In comparison to other super 8 hotels that I have used, it was very expensive, almost 2 times the rate that I have paid at other super 8's and offered no discounts for carp, aarp, Military or age.

    Good

It was attached to the restaurant which is where we had our meal on Saturday night.

No orange juice for breakfast and the eating area was sort of messy. The concierge was not too familiar with the Sarnia surroundings when asking for directions. Also found it hard to park in the back area due to the Santa Claus parade. Not well patrolled at all.

The rooms were hard to get to. You had to go outside to get to them. In the morning we had to go from level 2 to check out at level 1, then back up to room on level 2 to go back down to parking lot because a back door was locked at 5am the rooms were very very old and dingy looking. Not worth $100 a night

    Very good

Large room, with easy access to the car park from the room. The bed was comfortable and large. The linked restaurant was very good with delicious high quality food, at a 10% discount for those staying in the motel.

A rather run-down appearance, everything was clean and in working order.

About the only thing that we liked about the Super 8 Sarnia was the fact that it was quiet.

Super 8 Sarnia is an old motel in need of major renovations or possibly demolition and the building of a new motel. I had booked a non-smoking room but was originally given a smoking room that reeked of tobacco - not good for an allergy sufferer such as myself. When I informed the desk clerk that I could not tolerate the tobacco smell he moved us to a non-smoking room. For an additional $10.00 - $15.00 I could have stayed at a modern motel with a better overall atmosphere. The beds were not made up in a professional manner. I would hope that this motel is an exception rather than the norm for Super 8 Motels. We definitely will not stay at Super 8 Sarnia in the future.
